MENTAL HEALTH
RESOURCES

Being a student is hard work. Sometimes it can be mentally and emotionally draining,

so it is important to take care of your stress and mental health! Here are some tips for

self-care and stress-relief.

Take Study Breaks!

Don’t lock yourself in the library for 12 hours! Taking breaks while studying helps your brain avoid fatigue and absorb information better. A recommended schedule is studying for 50 minutes and breaking for 10, or studying for 45 and breaking for 15. Try and avoid screens during your break time too–maybe take a walk or get a snack instead!

Create a to-do list!

Write out everything on your mind in a to-do list. Trying to keep track of everything in your head creates stress and getting it all written out helps!

Get moving!

Go outside, walk the Lunsford, or stretch. Moving helps reduce stress and gives your brain a break.

Be kind to yourself!

Finals can be nervewracking. Make sure you take time to say nice things to yourself, and remember that your worth is not dependant on your grades.
